JAPONISM, TECHNOLOGY, and SOUVENIR: During the exhibition, we will introduce projects and sell products based on these three themes.

"Clothing" and "car parts".
What these two seemingly unrelated things have in common is that they both "wrap".
Both clothing and car parts have the function of protecting and enveloping people. They will continue to protect us and brighten our daily lives. There are the materials that will inevitably be discarded, we want to create new value by using their functions effectively to enrich our daily lives.
Clothing and car parts are important resources that should be passed on to the future.
"Mottainai" (a Japanese concept of not wasting) will continue to be transformed into "even better". We want to create a future where this continues.
The first collection is based on the concept of the "wrap" function and is composed of discarded materials that are difficult to reuse or recycle from the manufacturing process of Toyota vehicles, as well as clothing discarded for various reasons by Urban Research and sustainable materials from Toyoshima.

With the mission of "Transforming 'Mottainai' into 'Something Better'—Continuously Shaping a good Future," Toyota Upcycle was launched in April 2021 as part of Toyota Motor Corporation’s carbon neutrality activities.
The project focuses on repurposing waste materials generated in the automobile manufacturing process—materials that are difficult to reuse or recycle —into products and services with new value through the power of "monozukuri" (manufacturing) and partnerships.
Looking ahead, our passion is to expand beyond automobiles, incorporating waste materials from the broader manufacturing industry. By transforming and circulating these resources into essential products and services for society, TOYOTA UPCYCLE seeks to further promote the growth of an ethical culture.
